t. Paddy’s Day Trial

 

 

On March 18, 2007, seven peace marchers (including DM Catholic Worker, Frank Cordaro) with a permit to march in the Colorado Springs St. Patrick’s were arrested.  One was assaulted and injured.  Links regarding the events of that day and the trial that followed are below.

Charges were dropped on October 2, 2007, against five of the seven defendants who were arrested at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Colorado Springs.  Two of the defendants, Eric Verlo and Elizabeth Fineron will be re-tried.  The March 18 trial for all seven defendants resulted in a hung jury.  No information was given for the decision to retry two of the defendants while dismissing charges on the other five.
