We open the first floor of the Bishop Dingman House five days a week and welcome all who enter as guests and friends to our home.   No one ever has to prove or in any way document need to receive anything we have to share.

We serve two free meals each day on the five days our house is open.  Lunch is served at noon, and supper is served at 6:00 p.m.  Guests are welcome to take the meal “to go” if they wish.

Our guests are welcome to use our bathroom, take a shower (until 5:00 p.m.), receive and make local phone calls,  and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation, watch the news or a ball game on t.v., or just hang out in a safe and friendly space.   Guests are also welcome to receive mail at our house.

Free canned food, clothing, bedding, and toiletries are available upon request when we have  them to share. We offer guests a sock exchange. (We exchange a clean pair of socks for dirty ones, then wash and redistribute them.) On Sundays at noon we give away donated bread and pastries.

We give away fresh produce on Saturdays at 10 a.m.  at Trinity United Methodist Church at 8th and College Streets.  (Three blocks from the Catholic Worker.)
HOSPITALITY
Hospitality/ Helping our Neighbor
“The way we feel about it is this. No one asked us to do this work.  No one asked us to start an agency or an institution of any kind.  On our responsibility, because we are our brother’s and sister’s keeper, because of a sense of personal responsibility, we begin to try to see Christ in each one that comes to us.”
